SMS & Text Messaging

If you give us a mobile number with texts turned on — in the comic portal, by joining a show's waitlist, or by checking the text-me-my-confirmation box at checkout — we collect your mobile number, your name, and the date and method by which you gave consent. We use this information solely to send you information about upcoming shows, ticket availability, and event reminders from Steel City Cellar.

We do not share, sell, rent, or otherwise provide your mobile phone number or your SMS consent data to any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Message frequency varies; you may receive up to 30 messages per month. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe. Reply HELP for assistance, or contact us at hello@steelcitycellar.com.

What we collect

  • Your email — when you join the list, make an account, or buy a ticket. Any of the three puts you on the weekly email.
  • Order details — what you bought and when. Card payments run through Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
  • Site activity — the pages you view, the site or app you came from, an approximate location (country/region), and two identifiers we keep in your browser: a session id and a longer-lived visitor id.
  • How you found us — if you got here from a printed card, a poster, or a comic's link, we record which one, so we know what's worth doing again. It's a short code for the card, not anything about you.

Tying activity to you

If you give us your email — by signing up or buying a ticket — we may connect the browsing activity above to that email. The point is narrow: so the one email a week we send is about shows you'd actually want, instead of everything. We use it for our own booking and marketing. We don't sell your email or order history, and we don't hand either one to advertisers.

Who touches your data

Only the services that run the place: Stripe (payments), Resend (the email we send you), Supabase (where our data lives), and Vercel (hosting and traffic analytics). They process it on our behalf. Nobody buys it from us.

We also run the Meta Pixel, so our ads on Facebook and Instagram can reach people who've visited the site. It tells Meta which pages you view and when you start checkout, buy a ticket, join the list or a waitlist, become a member, send us a message, or save the parking map, along with the order's value. Meta sets its own cookies to do it. It doesn't get your name or your card. If you type your email or phone number into a form here, Meta receives a scrambled (hashed) version of it, which it uses to match the visit to a Meta account. What Meta does with it is covered by Meta's privacy policy, and you can control ad personalization in your Meta ad preferences.

Your choices

  • Stay anonymous. Turn on Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track in your browser. We honor it — with it on, we never attach the visitor id, so your activity can't be linked to you, and the Meta Pixel doesn't load at all.
  • Leave the list. Every weekly email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Or reply to any email we send and we'll take you off.
  • Be forgotten. Email us and we'll delete what we have on you.

Cookies and storage

We use your browser's own storage for the two ids above. The one third-party advertising tracker on the site is the Meta Pixel, described above, and it doesn't run if your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track.
